Required Activity:
Have students work on the activity, individually. Remind the students to do a good job on this "starter activity" Let them know that the activity will need to be turned in, later in the class. Remind the students that they will get similar "starter activities" when they arrive, each day in class. This comment will prepare the students to do a good job on the starter activities & it will let them know that you will be collecting the activities, as well.

that are helpful to remember the smith system:
Pass out the Habitual Eye Lead Time Activity.
Have the students decide if the driver in each car is looking 12 15 seconds, ahead of their vehicle. If the driver is looking correctly, then have the students check off " CORRECT". If the driver is looking incorrectly, then have the students check off "INCORRECT" and then have the students draw a new line with an arrow tip to show the new route that the driver should be looking.
Go over questions # 1 15 & discuss the answers, when the students are finished!! Demonstrate the first 2 or three questions & answers with the students.

After the video, pass out the Smith System activity, Some Symptoms of Poor Driving Habits.
Activity: Smith System, Some Symptoms of Poor Driving Habits
Answers on the quiz and on the mid-term test will need to be written down with a smith system answer. The answers must include keys from the smith system.
