- Welcome
- Introductions of todays topics & material that the students
will be covering.
- Explain the lesson agenda & what you will be covering in class.
Explain what you will be covering in Part 1 & Part 2.
- Take attendance.
Required Activity:
- Activity # 1: Chapter 7 - Negotiating Intersections / Word Search Puzzle
Pass Out Activity # 1, the chapter 7, word search. Have the students
complete the back side, when they are finished with the word search. Performing Basic Car
Maneuvers.
Required Activity # 2: Activity # 408
- Pass out activity # 408 / City Driving
- Discuss Questions & answers
- Do not collect this activity # 408, have the students keep the activity
to use a study guide.
- Remind students that activity # 408 is a good study guide. Students can
use this activity to study for the final exam. Several questions from activities # 408,
410 & 411 will be on the final exam.
Required Activity # 3:
Chapter # 7 / Choosing the Correct Turn
- Pass out the chapter # 7 activity, choosing the correct turn.
- Students will draw the path that their vehicle should take when making
turns at various intersections. Students can draw a line with an arrow tip to show the
route that their vehicle should take. Remind the students to always finish in the closest
lane !!
Follow up Activity:
- Have the students read & review chapter # 7, from the Drive Right
Textbook.
- Cover pages 130 - 144.
- Go over questions & answers from Reviewing Chapter Objectives on page
145. Questions # 1 13
- Discuss questions from the chapter test on page 146, # 1 14.
- Review the Decision Making Questions on Page 147, # 1 4.

Instructors can pass out the homework assignments or the presentation
activities on the day of lesson # 11. Instructors can also choose to give students time to
research the material by assigning the assignment information a few days ahead of lesson #
11. These assignments will allow the students to research topics, articles or material
& present their information to the rest of the class. Students will have fun, working
on many of these topics. Once again, these assignments are optional but not required.

Required Material to Present to the Class:
Review License Test Skills & Requirements to obtain a
drivers License
Pass out the uphill & downhill parking tips & the
Drivers License Trip Checklist. Have the students keep the information in their
folder. Remind the students to take out the material, just before they are ready to get
their drivers license. This information will remind them of the items that they need
to bring with them, in order to obtain a drivers license. Also, the students will
find the uphill & downhill parking tips useful, to remember how to perform the skills
that will be on the license test.
Instructors must pass out the following information to the class:

Explain the procedure to the students about the completion of the
drivers education course
Remind the students that Northwest Suburban Driving School cannot file
for a certificate of completion unless they turn in these items:
- The Students Permit information
- Report Cards, transcripts or a signed waiver form.
( Students must turn in the last two semesters of report cards.
Freshmen students must have a blue form signed by their high school
or junior high school. )
- Students must complete all four driving lessons
- Students must have completed all classroom sessions.
Explain the procedure, what the student needs to look for after
successful completion of the program:
- After everything is turned into the Northwest Suburban Driving School,
our office will process all of the students information & will send all of the
students attendance records, grades, class scores, completion information, license
information, report cards & eligibility forms to the secretary of states office
in Springfield, Illinois.
- Students will receive a verification letter from Northwest Suburban
Driving School, verifying successful completion. They will also receive a letter to give
to their high school, for graduation and school requirements. They may give this letter to
their high school office and receive full credit for taking drivers education at
Northwest Suburban Driving School. This letter from our program cannot be used to obtain a
drivers license. It can only be presented to the students high school to
receive drivers education credit for the students high school records.
- The verification letter from Northwest Suburban Driving School will also
remind the student that all of the information has been successfully processed & the
students should look for an official letter of completion from the Secretary of
States Office in Springfield, Illinois.
- The official letter of completion, from the Secretary of States
Office in Springfield, Illinois, will arrive in about 2 3 weeks after the
students last driving lesson.
The official letter of completion, from the Secretary of States
Office in Springfield, Illinois, must be presented at the drivers services facility
in order to receive a drivers license.
